BSX (Bram Stolk X11 Extensions) is a very simple graphic protocol intended to enhance LPMUDs without increasing network load unnecessarily. IT's been invented by Bram Stolk of Lysator Academic Computer Society Linköping. The first BSX enabled MUD Regenesis founded by Bram Stolk was also hosted there.
BSX polygons may only have one of 16 predefined colors. Up to 32 polygons can form an object or scene. A scene itself may contain up to 32 inidividual objects. These limitations allow a tight description of graphics. In combination with the sophisticated and well-engineered protocol it reduces the BSX related transfer approximately below the text related amounts of the communication. Nevertheless it suffices to illustrate the game situation and creates a unique atmosphere.
The graphics are only visible if a BSX enabled client or proxy is used.
The logo atop of this page has been created using a BSX drawing program and has been converted to png afterwards.
